Maths Workshop - Pattern

This week, the Prep neighbourhood explored the mathematical concept of pattern. They learnt that patterns have a base pattern that repeats over and over.

The children identified patterns in their environment and on each others' clothes.

Siena: "My pattern is with people. Shorts, Skirts, Shorts, Skirts."

Arlo: "You can make a pattern with rhythm." (showing a rhythm pattern  to his peers by tapping on the Torus).

Amory: "The windows have a pattern. Square, Rectangle, Square, Rectangle."

The Preps used their creativity to make patterns with blocks, stationary, shapes, drawings and people.
