The Prep Zoo

Following the zoo excursion, the Preps have had the opportunity to create their own zoo during Learning Agreement time. We are using our imaginations and recycled materials to build our zoo.

The Preps have been:

• Sorting the animals into type
• Counting animals
• Designing appropriate enclosures with cardboard construction - taking into account the natural habitat and feeding needs.
• Recording amount (writing animal name and number of animals)
• Working collaboratively, sharing ideas about layout of the zoo and enclosure with peers

Future Learning:

• Writing signs
• Mapping the zoo
• Researching animals
• Educating tour groups about particular animals
